Tuition

I’m an experienced lecturer, course developer, course leader and mentor and in addition to my regular teaching positions at BIMM, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and ICMP I can provide bespoke modular one-to-one tuition – either in person in Cardiff, remotely at your studio/workplace/home – or online via Zoom.

14-15 February 2026 I am delivering a weekend crash course ‘Electronic Music Performance with Ableton Live‘ in Bristol. This is being held in the training room at event production specialists PF Events and will provide everything you need to devise your own personal performance system and start building a liveset. Click here for more info or to grab one of the limited places.

For audio, I am able to teach all aspects of music production, sound design or live performance (including audio-visual work) and I focus on using Ableton Live for my tuition. If you are interested in live video/VJing I also teach Resolume Avenue.

I have devised a series of modules covering all aspects of using these apps, from the very basics through to advanced setups. This modular approach gives you great flexibility to choose exactly what and how you learn.

I work with both Mac and PC platforms and provide a friendly yet professional service. I’m based in central Cardiff, have public liability insurance and am CRB checked. I have been teaching since 2012 and hold a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.

For many years I ran the London Ableton User Group and this is excerpt from an online session aimed at people perhaps new to working with Ableton Live:

Here is an example of the course development work I’ve done – developing a workshop directly for Ableton for other people to run:
